Priest Allegedly Asked Boys for Sex

A Rockland County priest has been arrested for allegedly soliciting young men for sex, Rockland County District Attorney Kenneth Gribetz said Friday.

The Rev. Patrick Quigley, 40, a priest at the Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point, was charged late Thursday with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and three counts of patronizing a prostitute, all misdemeanors, said Gribetz.

“This is a very sad case,” said Gribetz. “The priest was highly respected in the community.”

Quigley allegedly approached a 16-year-old male on South Street in Haverstraw on Sept. 1 and offered him $ 60 in exchange for oral sex, Gribetz said.

Quigley then went to another youth, a 17-year-old, and allegedly offered him $ 100 in exchange for oral sex. The teen allegedly drove with Quigley to Route 9W but nothing happened, Gribetz said.

Quigley then returned to Haverstraw and allegedly offered another 16-year-old $ 100 in exchange for oral sex but this youth also declined, Gribetz said.
