Letter to Michael Critchley (re Pagano Investigation)

[Webmaster’s Note: The following letter was sent to attorney Michael Critchley on March 25, 2013. Governor Chris Christie and attorney Kurt Krauss also received a copy. As of April 13, 2013, none of the three has responded.]

March 25, 2013

Mr. Michael Critchley
75 Livingston Avenue
Roseland, NJ 07068

CC: Governor Chris Christie, Mr. Kurt Krauss

Mr. Critchley,

I am in receipt of your letter dated and emailed March 22, 2013.

Please be advised that Governor Chris Christie has not yet responded to my letter dated February 28, 2013. The letter to Governor Christie (See Exhibit A) included two very specific claims of misconduct perpetrated by Mr. Giac Pagano. In the same letter, I offered to work with Governor Christie and any respected individual or agency to “protect children and effectively reach out to victims of sexual abuse at Delbarton School and St. Mary’s Abbey.”

Recently, however, I experienced just the opposite. On Thursday, March 14, 2013, I received a phone call from Nick Susalis, an investigator who claimed attorney Kurt Krauss hired him. Mr. Susalis provided misleading (if not false) information and was unable to answer questions regarding the investigation, its desired outcome(s), and your office’s role in the investigation. My March 15 letter to Mr. Krauss (See Exhibit B) documented the conversation, along with concerns and several questions regarding the Delbarton/St. Mary’s “investigation.”

Let me be clear: I am willing to cooperate with any respected individual or agency to protect children and vulnerable adults, disciple perpetrators and their enablers, and effectively reach out to victims of sexual abuse at Delbarton School and St. Mary’s Abbey.

I know that many victims, family members, Delbarton alumni, former and current Delbarton staff along with former St. Mary’s community members share these views. We are simply waiting for someone to start a credible, compassionate process of investigation and accountability so that the healing process can begin.

Sincerely,

Patrick J Marker
